Short answer: Dossier Woody Vanilla is the Vanilla 28 alternative with the clearest brand statement and a published note list. Lattafa Khamrah is the spiced, boozy route Scento says feels close in mood, Lattafa Nebras is sweeter, and Mancera Coco Vanille goes brighter and coconut-led. None is the original, and none can be called identical.

This page is desk research. It draws on Dossier’s product page, Amazon listings checked on October 20, 2026 and a published roundup. We have not smelled, worn or blind-compared any of these. The roundup comes from Scento, which sells perfume and decants but says it does not stock Kayali, so its ranking is opinion with a commercial interest.

The alternatives

Dossier Woody Vanilla: the clearest statement

Dossier’s Woody Vanilla page describes it as inspired by Kayali’s Vanilla 28, with creamy notes on top, jasmine, muguet and brown sugar in the heart, and vanilla, patchouli, labdanum and tonka bean at the base. It says Dossier is not affiliated with Kayali. Scento lists Vanilla 28 with vanilla orchid and jasmine on top, vanilla infusion and tonka bean in the heart, and brown sugar, amber woods, musk and patchouli at the base, and describes Dossier as drier, wood-led, less sweet and less syrupy. The Amazon listing is the single 50 ml Eau de Parfum sold by Dossier.

  • Choose it if you want to read the notes before you buy and prefer a brand that states its inspiration.
  • Skip it if the syrupy, sweet-boozy side is what you love about Vanilla 28; Scento describes Dossier as drier and less sweet.

Lattafa Khamrah: the spiced, boozy mood

Scento says Khamrah’s mood feels close to Vanilla 28 and describes it as spiced and boozy. Amazon’s listing titles it vanilla, warm spicy, amber and cinnamon, and it is sold by Amazon.com in the 3.4 oz size, with limited stock when we checked. Lattafa does not describe it as a Kayali alternative, and the roundup gives no note-by-note comparison, so what the two share is the vanilla-and-amber family rather than a verified list.

  • Choose it if you like warm gourmand scents with spice and want something in the same mood family.
  • Skip it if you want a close structural match. The comparison is a reviewer’s view of mood, not a note overlap.

Lattafa Nebras: sweeter and more cacao-led

Scento, citing Fragrantica for the notes, lists Nebras with red berries and mandarin orange on top, vanilla, cacao and rose in the heart, and sugar, tonka bean, amber and musk in the base. That puts tonka, amber, musk and a sugary vanilla in common with the Vanilla 28 list, but Scento calls it sweeter and more cacao-vanilla in style. The Amazon listing is the 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum from a third-party seller.

  • Choose it if you want a sweeter, dessert-leaning vanilla with a berry opening.
  • Skip it if you want Vanilla 28’s brown-sugar-and-patchouli depth; Nebras trades it for cacao and rose.

Mancera Coco Vanille: the coconut route

Scento’s table describes Coco Vanille as creamy vanilla with coconut, and says it is brighter and coconut-led, with stronger projection than Vanilla 28; it gives no source for the performance claim. The 4 oz bottle is sold by Amazon.com, with limited stock when we checked. This is a different take on vanilla, not a lookalike.

  • Choose it if coconut with vanilla sounds appealing and you want a lighter feel than a brown-sugar gourmand.
  • Skip it if you dislike coconut or want the amber-woods base. Sample first.

Scento names Zara Supreme Vanilla, Mercedes-Benz Club Black, Montale Vanille Absolu and Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille. It describes the last two as darker, smokier and more resinous, and says Spiritueuse Double Vanille is not a direct Vanilla 28 dupe. We left them out because the roundup gives no note comparison for them.

The original, if you would rather start there

We could not verify a new, in-stock Amazon listing for the original on October 20, 2026: the Kayali Vanilla 28 Eau de Parfum Iconic Set (a 50 ml bottle plus a 10 ml spray) showed as out of stock when we rechecked it. A separate mini duo holds two 5 ml sprays, Vanilla 28 and Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42. For the full-size bottle, here is a labeled search: Search Amazon for Kayali Vanilla 28 Eau de Parfum 50 ml . Pick the Eau de Parfum, not a different Kayali scent, a sample or a miniature, and confirm the seller, contents and return terms before ordering.

Before you buy any of them

  • Sample the original first. If Vanilla 28 itself does not suit you, a cheaper interpretation will not fix that.
  • Name what you like. If it is the brown sugar and patchouli, Dossier’s list is the closest on paper; if it is the spiced, boozy feel, Khamrah is the mood match.
  • Judge each alternative on its own. Buy it because you like wearing it, not because a roundup used the word “dupe.”
  • Compare the seller and the return terms. Opened fragrance is often final sale.

Frequently asked questions

Is any of these the same as Kayali Vanilla 28?

No. Each is a separate formula from a different maker. Dossier says Woody Vanilla is inspired by Vanilla 28 and that it is not affiliated with Kayali. The Lattafa and Mancera picks are comparisons made by a retailer roundup, not by the makers.

Which alternative shares the most notes with Vanilla 28?

Dossier Woody Vanilla, going by published lists. Dossier lists jasmine, muguet and brown sugar in the heart and vanilla, patchouli, labdanum and tonka bean at the base. Scento lists Vanilla 28 with jasmine, tonka bean, brown sugar, patchouli and vanilla among its notes. Overlap on paper does not mean the two smell alike.

Is Lattafa Khamrah a Vanilla 28 dupe?

Scento says its spiced, boozy mood feels close to Vanilla 28, but Lattafa makes no such claim and the roundup gives no full note comparison. Treat it as a related gourmand rather than a copy.

What if I want a darker, smokier vanilla instead?

Scento points to Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille and Montale Vanille Absolu as darker, smokier and more resinous options, and says Spiritueuse Double Vanille is not a direct Vanilla 28 dupe. They are a different search from a dupe.

How can I try Vanilla 28 without a full bottle?

Amazon lists a Kayali mini duo with two 5 ml sprays, Vanilla 28 and Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42, from a third-party seller. Return rules for opened fragrance vary by seller, so read the terms on the offer you use.
