Short answer: ALT. Fragrances Crystal No. 23 and Dossier Ambery Saffron are the two alternatives whose own listings or brand pages name Baccarat Rouge 540, and both show up in the Osmoz and Scento roundups. The other four below are comparisons made by reviewers and retailers, not by the brands. None is the original, and none can be called identical.
This page is desk research. It draws on brand pages, Amazon listings checked on October 19, 2026, and published roundups. We have not smelled, worn or blind-compared any of these. Two of the roundups come from sites that sell perfume or decants, so their rankings are opinion with a commercial interest.
Quick comparison
| Alternative | What the brand or listing says | Who names the comparison | Check first |

| Al Haramain Amber Oud Ruby Edition, 60 ml | Separate edition in the same Amber Oud line | Scento ties it to the Extrait | Do not confuse it with the Rouge edition |

The alternatives
ALT. Fragrances Crystal No. 23: the most direct comparison
The Amazon listing is the 60 ml Extrait de Parfum, sold by ALT. Fragrances, and its title says it is inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540. Osmoz ranks it first in its roundup. Our Crystal No. 23 review covers sizes, the Gold version and the brand’s return policy.
- Choose it if you want the alternative that openly names the original.
- Skip it if you expect the same formula or the same brand experience.
Dossier Ambery Saffron: the clearest note list
Dossier’s Ambery Saffron page lists saffron and orange blossom on top, jasmine, plum and cedarwood in the heart, and oakmoss, fir balsam and amber at the base. It says the scent is inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540 and that Dossier is not affiliated with Maison Francis Kurkdjian. The Amazon listing is the 50 ml Eau de Parfum, sold by Dossier.
- Choose it if you want to read the notes before you buy.
- Skip it if you are comparing against the Extrait, which is a different concentration of the original.
Al Haramain Amber Oud Rouge and Ruby Edition: two different products
Retailer listings give Amber Oud Rouge a saffron top, a jasmine heart and a base of ambergris, musk and white cedar. Scento cites several comparison sites that list it against the original. Al Haramain itself does not describe it as a copy.
Amber Oud Ruby Edition is a separate edition. Scento ties it to the Extrait specifically. Check the edition name on the bottle, because Gold, Ruby and Rouge sit side by side in the same line.
- Choose Rouge if you are comparing against the Eau de Parfum; choose Ruby if you are comparing against the Extrait.
- Skip both if you want a brand that states the comparison itself.
Armaf Club de Nuit Untold: from the same maker as the Aventus favorite
A retailer note pyramid for Club de Nuit Untold lists saffron and jasmine, then amberwood and ambergris, then fir resin and cedar. Scento cites Basenotes as calling it the expected clone and Fragrantica as calling it a sharper, more masculine take. The 3.6 oz Amazon listing is sold by Amazon.com.
- Choose it if you like the saffron-amberwood idea but want a sharper edge.
- Skip it if you want the softer, airier feel people associate with the original.
Orientica Amber Rouge: the least documented pick
The Amazon listing is the 80 ml Eau de Parfum with amber, saffron, jasmine and orange. Scento says Base Note Club and ScentVerdict review it as a clone. We found fewer independent sources than for the others.
- Choose it if you want a third-party-reviewed option beyond the usual names.
- Skip it if you prefer a brand that states its inspiration.
A popular comparison that sources dispute
Ariana Grande Cloud went viral on social media as a stand-in. Scento reports that Fragrantica calls the comparison a misnomer that rests on a single note, while Parfumo lists some similarities. Cloud’s own listing describes lavender, coconut, vanilla and pear, so treat it as a different, sweeter gourmand that some people enjoy for its own sake. Zara Red Temptation is another frequent comparison; we cover it in its own review.
The original, if you would rather start there
Amazon lists the original in a 5 ml travel size: Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, 5 ml travel refillable , a new listing from a third-party seller. It is the Eau de Parfum, not the Extrait. For a full bottle, search Amazon for Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum and match the concentration and size, since the Extrait is sold alongside it. Our Baccarat Rouge 540 review explains what to check before paying for a full bottle.
Before you buy any of them
- Sample the original first. If you do not enjoy Baccarat Rouge 540 itself, a cheaper interpretation will not fix that.
- Judge each alternative on its own. Buy it because you like wearing it, not because a roundup used the word “dupe.”
- Compare the delivered total, the seller and the return terms. Opened fragrance is often final sale.
- Respect the people around you. These are projecting amber scents, so start with one or two sprays.
